We believe each of us, in our daily choices, can have an impact on the health and wellbeing of the earth. To that end, we use 100% organic products in the building of Zzzease.
Fabrics: Our fabrics (both cover and insert), sourced from our friends at Organic Cotton Plus are certified organic. Many of the fabrics we use are from the USA. For those imported, the producers are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). GOTS is recognised as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
Filling: Zzzease is filled with 100% organic, non-GMO whole buckwheat seeds. We don’t think the earth needs any more chemicals seeping into the soil. And you have the comfort of knowing you’re not resting any non-organic threats on your head at night.
Packaging: The little sack containing your Zzzease is also made from 100% organic fabric. You may notice the top of your Zzzease sack is the same fabric on the cover inside. The rope used to close your sack is natural hemp cord. Growing hemp in the US has been prohibited for a long time. Recent strides may make industrial hemp more available in the US. If you’re interested, you can read more from the North American Industrial Hemp Council. We’re hoping more US farmers will soon be growing hemp!
Tags, Label & Paper: At this writing, these parts of Zzzease are not organic. We are using recycled paper for the insert material and are seeking sources for organic tags and labels.
